The following services are provided by the Consular Department of the Nigeria High Commission, New Delhi :-


 

The Nigeria High Commission, New Delhi is concurrently accredited to Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka and so equally handles all the issues mentioned above to Nigerian Citizens in these countries.

With the new on-line syatem adopted by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) all over the world, applicants are advised to visit www.immigration.gov.ng for application, guidelines and procedure for procurement of Nigeria Standard Passport, renewal and re-issuance of same.


Applicants are to attach the acknowledge slip and the receipt of payment to their respective applications for the issuance of Passport, renewal and re-issue of same and submit to the High Commission before they can be processed


Applicants should note that the mission does not authorise the replacement of lost Nigerian Standard Passports. Applicants for this service are therefore required to provide among other things, prior approval of the Nigeria Immigration Services Head Quarters with their application.



Issuance of Identification/ bonafide letters

Letters of Identification are issued to all bonafide Nigerians who apply for them. It is at no cost procedure. The applicant requests for a Letter of Identification in writing accompanied by two passport photographs and photocopy of the data page of his/her International Passport as well as the visa page. It takes two working days to issue. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs are Consular days. All consular matters, including the issuance of Letters of Identification, ETC'S, No-objection letters etc are submitted and issued on these days. However, no objection letters on medical related issues and or deaths are issued on priority basis everyday.

All Nigerians arriving India are expected to register with the High Commission or at least, notify the High Commission of their presence in India.
